Lita Rossana Ford Also known as Lita Ford is an American guitar player and singer born in Britain. She played lead guitar for The Runaways, a hard-rock band made up of all females in the late 1970s. Their punk rock music and raunchy lyrics made them recognized by the rock world. The group failed to make a significant impact on the scene in their home country of the United States but earned huge recognition abroad, particularly in Japan. Ford launched a solo heavy-metal career after the breakup of her band in 1979. Her first solo release was 'Dancin' on the Edge and was followed by the record Out for Blood. Ford failed to make anything with either of them and remained out of the realm of rock for a decade. The smash-hit album "Lita" was made available by Ford in the year 1988. the single 'Kiss me Deadly' and the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever were both huge hits. However, the success of her career wasn't long-lasting and for several years, she was absent. The release of Black in 1995 followed by a 15-year wait for 'Wicked Wonderland. In 2016, she released her latest studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
